1. This picture I have chosen is an example of indexical and iconic photographs. There is a deeper meaning, if you look at all the pictures. There is a representation of war in the picture, as you can see from the foreground and background pictures. The world trade centre was a target of terrorism, and the bombs from the Iraqi war, which are iconic pictures. Uncle Sam, in the bottom left corner is designed to look like Hitler and is an iconic picture. The American flag is an indexical picture, which means freedom and peace. The globe in the top corner is a indexical image, which is showing the 6 continents and the whole world united as one, no war or fighting.
